Zentrale Stelle für Informationstechnik im Sicherheitsbereich (ZITiS) is a federal research and development agency within the German Federal Ministry for Interior. Established in 2017 as part of the German federal cyber security strategy, ZITiS provides technical services for German federal operative security agencies.
It supports German federal agencies by providing technical expertise across a range of topics, including digital forensics, lawful interception, big data analysis, and cryptanalysis.
Using in-depth knowledge and expertise, ZITiS researches and creates comprehensive strategies, methods, tools, and solutions that are crucial to the tasks of operative agencies. ZITiS plays a central role in research and development for the German security sector.
ZITiS will be involved in all Work Packages and will bring its expertise in digital forensics, lawful interception, big data analysis and cryptanalysis. ZITiS will support the project with testing, validation and verification of developed tools, organizing events, and creating a communicating bridge between German LEAs and the project.
