The State Office of Criminal Investigation Baden-Württemberg (LKA BW) is the central agency for specialised crime-fighting tasks within Baden-Württemberg and beyond. Operating under the State Ministry of the Interior, it leads in criminological advancements, responding to the growing internationalisation of organised crime and the increasing complexity of investigations. In addition to investigation and prevention, it pioneers innovative solutions in areas such as cybercrime, terrorism, and organised crime. The LKA BW also provides services like asset recovery, witness protection, telecommunications surveillance, and forensic analysis, serving as a key interface for national and international police cooperation.
